I’m so overwhelmed with the blessings I’ve been a part of this week, I just couldn’t keep it to myself anymore. I want to share this post with this thought:
Who is God asking you to reach out to this week?
Who has He brought to your mind that He’d like to use you to bless? Doesn’t have to be some big, public, expensive, magnanimous gesture. Just what God puts in your heart.
Last week was super tough with a life lesson that was very painful but necessary. If Satan had his way, he would have convinced me of the lies he wants me to believe (James 4:7).
He has reminded me over and over this week that He is fighting my battles for me (Exodus 14:14). God cares for me more than anyone (Isaiah 43:2). My Father has plans for me and my good (Jeremiah 29:11). He gives me strength (Isaiah 40:29).
People that I haven’t talked to or heard from have contacted me out of the blue this week to reconnect. They have reached out to say they were suddenly thinking of me and wanted to pray for me.
I was at the bus stop (a place that I’ve been at every school day at 4:20 pm for years) yesterday and a neighbor stopped to make sure I was ok since I was parked on the side of the road with my flashers on. We have the nicest neighbors!
Someone contacted me for the sole purpose of blessing my kids and to tell me that I should be encouraged. We reconnected lately and knew each other when the boys were small. She’s been such a blessing this week and she has no idea how God is using her to ‘hug’ me.
Hand surgery for me is Thursday. Without asking at all, I have a friend bringing dinner Thursday night. Another friend is bringing dinner Friday. Momma is coming Sunday for the night. When someone else texted last night to bring a meal, it was overwhelming to be able to say that it was all covered. God is so good to me inspite of myself!!
This song has been running through my head this week… it was written in the 1800s and
yet is speaking to me…
There shall be showers of blessing:This is the promise of love; There shall be seasons refreshing,Sent from the Savior above.
Refrain:Showers of blessing,Showers of blessing we need:Mercy-drops round us are falling,But for the showers we plead.
There shall be showers of blessing,Precious reviving again;Over the hills and the valleys,Sound of abundance of rain.
There shall be showers of blessing;Send them upon us, O Lord;Grant to us now a refreshing,Come, and now honor Thy Word.
There shall be showers of blessing:Oh, that today they might fall,Now as to God we’re confessing,Now as on Jesus we call!
There shall be showers of blessing,If we but trust and obey; There shall be seasons refreshing,If we let God have His way.
