This week we finally couldn’t wait any longer and had to do something to fix the boys’ bathroom. This isn’t some creative, well written blog post. Just documentation of sorts since there are more than a few folks that would like to see Obed’s handiwork. We’ve had a lot of contractors in and out of our house over the years. This particular job was too small for some of them to even want to both with though.
Our wonderful neighbor, Mr. Curtis, told us about Obed. I try to know all my neighbors and we do a LOT of walking up and down my street over the last 14 years. Mr. Curtis will sometimes come out and chat with us when he sees us coming. Makes my day sometimes to see him when I’m feeling lonely and down. He and his wife are a ray of sunshine in a dark world.
Anyway, Obed did a few little jobs at our home upon Mr. Curtis’ recommendation and we were pleased so we asked him to quote our bathroom. The boys’ bathroom sits above the garage so it was one day coming in from the store, I noticed drips coming from the ceiling. Grrr. Part of owning a home, I guess, but annoying nonetheless.
Here’s a few pics of what I got from before. I didn’t do formal before/after pics so you’ll just have to imagine. The original floor was white builders’ tile that had a layer of mortar underneath so demo was especially messy.
the original vanity was only 29″ high. great when the kids were little but they’re teens now.
a mortar layer under the tile was way messy to demo. had to be carried out in buckets. ugh.
so thankful that obed and ron were able to keep the original top and reuse it. saved us a ton of money.
the new tile is rectangular which i loved in this space!
we got this vanity base from northside material brokers for less than $300!
new towel storage on the wall! $10 at michaels!
mirrors were only $25 at marshalls
obed did a great job of making this look worn. lots of character!
love the floor.
great way to store towels on the wall
Looks great now! thanks obed!!!
