Outside my window…everything is still white!! It’s snow day #2 and so far the kids have only attended school two days in 2011! Very strange. And to think that the weather people have said all summer that this would be a very mild winter and not to look for any significant snow events. Whatever!
I am thinking…that we need to get out of this house for a while but that isn’t going to happen. It’s fine though, the kids will very likely be back in school tomorrow and then I can get back on my routine!
I am thankful for…electricity, warm water, cozy house, safe family, my salvation, and a husband who loves me no matter what.
From the learning rooms… haven’t cracked a book in days! Oh well!
From the kitchen… the last few days have been a bunch of leftovers but tonight I realized I have the makings for chicken spaghetti ala The Pioneer Woman! Many thanks to Jennifer Pope for introducing me to her. Jennifer is quite the pioneer herself but that’s a topic for another day! She’s awesome though!
I am wearing…pjs, like everyone else in this house!
I am creating…daily checklists for my boys. I know, those of you who don’t know me well will think I’m crazy but I dearly love lists. This way, we can keep track of their little ‘to-do’ things in a day and at the end of the month they will receive a dime for every check. They will tithe some of it, they will save some of it for a car and they may spend some of it. Works great!!! It’s in my google docs for anyone that wants to see… click here…
I am going…to do some more laundry! It never ends around here… but that’s ok!
I am reading…Max Lucado’s “No Wonder They Call Him The Savior”. I just started it though so no comments yet but I really like reading Lucado. He has such a gift for word pictures.
I am hoping…they have school tomorrow. Seriously, the kids can only sled down a hill so many times before they are cold and bored.
I am hearing…the old version of superman cartoons. My kids love the ones from the 50s and I love that I don’t have to worry about what’s on it!
Around the house…pretty messy around here. Gloves, hats, and coats are hung everywhere so they will dry by the time they want to go out again!
One of my favorite things…is watching the little birds in the wintertime eat the seed out of the feeder. I’ve got it hung out there where I can see it from my computer area. They are very happy today that we’ve put out food for them! (and by ‘we’ I mean Chuck!)
A few plans for the rest of the week: school, hopefully. Kroger, CVS, Riteaid, and doing some cooking of casseroles to eat and to share. A friend’s baby is due soon and I want to make sure they have something out of the freezer when they need it!
