I can’t stress to you the importance of having a tribe. The only blood family I have in town is my mother-in-law. She’s awesome and is usually able to be there if I need her. But what I’m talking about is make sure you have a tribe. I first heard of this concept in my new Courage to Earn group on Facebook. This is the fan page but there’s also a group if you are a blogger or an ‘earner’ and need some encouragement. These ladies are amazing. When I first heard them talking about the importance of having a tribe, I thought it only applied to other bloggers.
Why you need to have a tribe…
Turns out, it’s not just bloggers. This refers to your people. If you don’t have some people, then make it your mission in 2018 to get some people. My people love me, support me, encourage me, and at times, help redirect me. My momma is in my tribe…
My sister-in-law is in my tribe…
This was us having lunch when she was on her way to pick up her son from football camp and just called to meet me for lunch several months ago. I dropped what I was doing and was happy to see her!
My point is this, when my son broke his collarbone yesterday, I was a mess inside. I couldn’t show it but my tribe knew I needed them. One of them showed up with flowers for me and balloons and candy for my youngest.
Then another of them showed up with dinner.
A tribe must be cultivated. You grow it, nurture it, and tend to it. Countless times, I’ve called, texted, send cards, made meals, prayed fervently, and just sat with friends on occasions. I’m telling you, to have a tribe is to have a gift that keeps giving. So surround yourself with people who count. I’m so thankful for my tribe!!
Keep it Simple,
