So this blog post will not start off with… “I saw this on Pinterest!” 🙂 Lucky for you! This one starts off with this..
I’m drowning in laundry!
and I thought to myself… I cannot be the only person who feels like they are drowning in laundry! So, off to google I went. I was not surprised when it directed me to one of my fav sites…. I Heart Organizing (great name, right!??) and her laundry solutions!
I love her and her ideas!!!
Even she has the laundry problem!
Then I saw this… This article was what I was looking for about how many clothes does one need? And I knew I was on to something. I’m not alone! Isn’t that all we as women really need to hear!??? Then I went in my boys’ closets and saw this:
and thought to myself… how many shorts does a child really need?? Now, in my partial defense, my boys, although 17 months apart, are virtually the same size. Ok, the younger one is a little bigger, but we don’t bring that up very often. So I really am clothing twins when you think about it. But really, even with that said, do I need 62 pairs of shorts? There, I said it outloud (well sort of outloud!).
62 pairs of shorts.
Some were given, some were goodwill, some were yard sale. NONE were bought new though. So it’s not a money issue. It’s a clutter issue! Well, I’m not gonna take it anymore… I’m gonna get hold of this right now. I’m gonna start with 15 items of each kind of clothing for each child. So then I can separate their closets. They will love that. Right now there is a winter closet in one child’s bedroom and the summer closet in the other one. Ahhh, I’m feeling better already and I have yet to start.
So here’s the reader question… how much is too much??? Pare down people! You will feel so much better!
