Ok, so we all know that carpet is about the grossest thing you can have in your house. I still have it in all our bedrooms and probably always will. We get it professionally cleaned every year and every year when that sewage smell comes out, I say, let’s take it all out! But we don’t. Because we love the feel of carpet. I’ll just have to ignore what might be in it.
So recently my friend, Jayme, introduced me to Pinterest. You may have heard about it. It’s this place on the internet that you go to get ideas but it’s really a trick. See when you go on Pinterest, the clock moves much faster than when you are not on Pinterest. It’s a fact… check it out…
On Pinterest I saw this awesome before/after picture of this girl’s stairs after she ripped her carpet off. Of course, whoever built her house had brains enough to prepare her stairs so that if someone wanted to pull the carpet off someday, they could. We did not have such a builder. I don’t know our builder and he’s probably glad I don’t know him. I might wish really mean things for him. Seriously, every project we’ve done, we’ve heard contractors say things like, “hmmm, never seen this done like this before.” or my personal favorite, “this wall isn’t square.” Well, blow me down!
Anyway, back to my original intent here… (excuse me, I’m a Sanguine!)… the stairs… our carpet has been on our stairs for almost 10 years. Ick. My boys have grown up doing up and down those stairs. Not that they have less dirt now but at least with no carpet I can wipe it up!
So here it is…. drumroll please….. all three pictures are before and after…
Doesn’t this just make you smile???
And I thought my trim was white before! Turns out it was a sorry shade of yellow!
And he even stained the door! Ahhhhh!
Well there you have it. Now I can put my house back together and get ready for Missions Conference. We are blessed enough to get to keep a family in our home for the weekend in February when our church will host some new missionaries! It’s such an exciting time! I’m sure you will hear all about it!
Have a wonderful day! (Unless you have other plans!)
