Through my friend, Sarah Rodriguez, I discovered a very simple blogging method that I am going to implement on my busy days that don’t allow me to really sit and write. Wait, that’s every day!!! Oh well, here’s to my never-ending pursuit of living simply….
Outside my window… it’s raining and raining and raining… which reminds me of a friend from college named Rainey. We’d go places together and introduce ourselves and no one would believe us. Silly but fun memory.
I am thinking… how very blessed I am to be able to stay home with my boys and have all that God has given us for now. I have learned this year, that everything we hold dear can disappear in the blink of an eye. How very short our lives really are has become very real to me and my friends this year. Death and illness has touched each one of us in different ways. They are all in the healing process, whether physically or emotionally. Our job is to support and pray for one another constantly. That’s what we are commanded…. pray without ceasing. What a little thing with huge effects!!
I am thankful for… my husband and his job. My husband gives me many freedoms in our lives with our mutual trust of one another. I don’t have to ask permission to do things. I know what he likes and dislikes and he trusts me and I trust him. It’s a very warming feeling to have a safe place to fall on this earth. God is so good to us to have given us one another.
From the kitchen… made a yummy chicken corn chili last night thanks to E-Mealz! Here’s the link to start a subscription. I heard about it on Dave Ramsey and decided to try the low carb meals to get some new ideas for us to eat. The boys loved it (surprisingly!) and we all had a very nice dinner!!!
I am wearing… my pjs!! Yes, it’s a rainy saturday and we are all still in our pjs. Chuck is working a double day today and we are going to a friends’ for dinner tonight so I don’t have to cook!!! Hallelujah!
I am creating… a list of books that need to be tested on for my boys for A/R. It’s a great program at school and they are both in the lead for their grade! Woo hoo!
I am going… no where today except to Honey’s house tonight for dinner!
I am reading… Australia
I am hoping… that I can take off this extra 5 lbs I’m carrying around from being so careless this month!
I am hearing… birds singing in the rain, boys playing with their lego starfighters – acting out scenes from The Clone Wars, Christmas music on my pandora radio via Roku!!
Around the house… it’s Christmas!!! I’ve been decorated for quite a while now. I just the feel of Christmas. Such a joyful time of year.
One of my favorite things… my new routine of getting up and getting coffee and doing my daily Bible reading. I’m reading Max Lucado’s daily bible this year and I’ll have to do this one again next year since I skipped so many days this year…
A few plans for the rest of the week: looking forward to a visit from mom and dad this week!
Here is picture for thought I am sharing: Chuck’s Aunt Judy that lives in CA always remembers the boys with cards at all the major holidays! She’s a retired teacher and really loves my boys and is so sweet to send them stuff. She’s married to Chuck’s dad’s brother. We’ve only seen them a handful of times but it’s good for the boys to have such a broad sense of family. We have a very big family and I make sure they know them all so that when they grow up, they will want the same thing for their family. God has blessed us with lots of family!!!
