Recently, a friend called and asked if I could help her out for a day and watch her little girl. I am so busy lately, that I haven’t been able to do stuff like this but today, it worked out. It made me remember
The day I witnessed a miracle
and it prompted me to start a series for Thursdays.
I hope it will prompt you to begin your own tradition on your social media channel. I was sitting in my happy place this morning thinking about all God has done. Anytime we get to highlight God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness, it’s a good day! Back on October 15, 2014, this little girl with me today didn’t exist.
If God had not chosen to save Sammy’s life, she would have never been born. That reality hits me when I hear people say so flippantly that something is a miracle. I’m sorry, but it’s not a miracle that you got a good parking spot, or even if God gave you a job, or you hit the lottery. On 10/15/14, Sammy Miller had a heart attack at the age of 33 that should have killed him. Before I carry on, you’ll need to see this:
THAT is a miracle.
So many things came together to tell their story. Edie (the cutie I got to be with today) is a little over a year old. She was born just shy of the 2 year anniversary of Sammy’s heart attack. It was so amazing to watch our whole community come together to support this family. That’s how it should be with any situation, especially a tragedy.
Right here is where Buddy realized this was a whole new food source he’d never thought of before. He would have been a great baby dog. He was gentle, loving and attentive the whole day. Not once did he even act scared of her or nervous. I was very vigilant though since you just never know and we’ve only had him since July 15. But, I was amazed at this dog’s disposition. She loved him of course, and I’m sure he was thinking, “mom, I’m happy to clean up the floor behind her.” Too sweet. I love this Aussie!
So, there’s my Thankful Thursday this week. I’m glad I’m doing this because it won’t be just November that we’re being intentionally thankful!
Keep it Simple,
