I’m April. Welcome to my virtual porch. Grab a glass of tea and let’s visit.
First and foremost… I’m a mom of boys! Goodness, that will ring true with millions of other families! My boys were born in 2002 and 2004 and are only 17 months apart. This is my sister-in-law with me and her two boys that are close in age to mine. They hunt, fish, beach, play football, run cross country and play lacrosse. Also, my family owns Buckeyelures fishing lure company so they are true outdoorsmen!! They are constant entertainment, joy, stress, and blessing, all at once.
I started this blog in 2009 because at the time, I had two boys ages 7 and 8. Life was crazy. Who am I kidding, it still is and always will be! I had no idea this would grow to where we are today. When I write, I want to share my day with you. Some days we’re dealing with a crisis but most days, we are just enjoying life with boys.
The there’s the Captain. We met by Divine Intervention on April 1, 2000. I avoided him because people told me all pilots are bad boys and they lie. Well, not this one. My daddy met him a month later and declared, “this is the one God has for you.” As usual, he was right. We married on July 4, 2001 and he’s been my rock in my chaotic world ever since. He’s an amazing father, husband and friend. He’s got an awesome train room which I write about sometimes as well. We are always doing things to strengthen our marriage and I write about that often.
Our first boy was born the next June and then the next boy (and last!) was born 17 months later.
And then there came the years of diapers, preschool, sleepless nights, and our whole house looking like the toy store threw up in it.
Now they are just about grown and we have a whole new set of subjects we are covering. Simple Classic Life summarizes how I feel about what we are building here.
I love simplicity.
I love my family.
I love God and want to share His love with fellow man.
I love spreading joy.
We hope you will share this page with others when you see something that makes you smile.
