Yep, it happened. First, let me say that if you don’t struggle with your weight or your body, in general, please go read another blog. Thanks. But for the rest of you.. the moms, the friends, the sisters, the girlfriends, the tired, wore out, exhausted, so over it women that we all know…
Today was my day.
You know those days. The days that you say, ‘I’m not doing this anymore.’
I had one of those days in January 2009. Four months before I turned 40 and I swore I wasn’t gonna be 40 and fat. So I changed things. I changed how much I move, and I changed what I ate. And guess what?
I lost the weight.
All of it. I’m 5’9″ and on my 40th birthday I was back at 150. Perfect for me!
Funny how that happens. Not really. It’s not funny at all.
It’s tiring and you feel like a loser. But God says,
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Over the years we fall off the wagon. Gain five pounds. Lose those five pounds…
Myfitnesspal makes you feel great because they do things like post:
SHE LOST 2 POUNDS SINCE HER LAST WEIGH IN!
um, ok, but aren’t those the same two pounds I lost last month.
They’re kind enough not to post “SHE’S PACKIN’ IT ON NOW! GAINED TWO POUNDS SINCE LUNCH!”
So in November, I hurt my hand using a leaf blower (grrr, proof yard work will kill you) and let myself fall off the wagon. Normally, I’d get back on and be fine…
But then Thanksgiving happened.
Then Christmas happened.
Then a breast MRI turned into a biopsy. That calls for a visit to the Varsity in downtown Atlanta, right?
All the while, my friend, Melissa, was in the country for a visit and WE ALL LOVE FOOD and so suddenly every occasion became special. Except she got to go back to her country where the fat just falls off of you because there’s no processed foods and you walk everywhere.
Then the biopsy was fine but then my hand really got bad and February was carpal tunnel surgery.
Drugs = EAT ALL THE FOOD!!!
I know what you’re thinking… “girl, 11 pounds is nothing, I need to lose 50.” That may be but I’ve lost 80 pounds TWICE. I know what it’s like and I’ll never let myself get that out of bounds again. It’s too hard to recover.
So, today I started this:
I get nothing from you buying it but it is on sale right now as of the writing of this post.
Then I joined the 30 day free trial of Daily Burn. I’ve already done more than a few days of the workouts and a new one pops up daily and then you just do it. It’s a channel on our roku box so that’s awesome!! Turns out I HATE to workout. I have friends that call the gym their happy place…
Sitting on the floor with an entire bag of oreos and milk is my happy place… or Krispy Kreme on hot donut night. You get my drift.
By now, you know that if something isn’t simple, I probably won’t do it or stick to it. You’re right.
After the 7 day plan, I’ll post here where I’m going nutritionally. But I’m really loving daily burn.
Go out and have a great day. Remember, if something isn’t going your way, you can usually do something to change it. Just get up and do something.
Keep it Simple,
